If your travels take you this way, you should definitely take a break and stop on in. You can use the clean restrooms, vending, and other amenities here. This is a great place to take a break from the road and unwind for a bit too. Overall, this is still a very nice rest area. For those of you that have pets with you on the trip, they do have a dedicated pet area here too. They have lots of space to walk around and explore. Since the one at the SC border is closed for renovations, there was one at this rest area. One thing of note is that normally at the welcome centers, you'll see some kind of art there. I took more time to walk around the grounds of the rest area. I didn't need any vending items this time, so I didn't use the vending area on this visit. The restrooms were well maintained and had no issues in there. The main reason for the stop was to use the restroom and to get out of the car for a little while. If you are looking for vending items, that will be the building to the right from the car parking side of the rest area. Restrooms are located in the main building. This rest area is open 24 hours daily and parking was plentiful on this visit. Just like other rest areas I have been to in North Carolina, this one was nice too. West of Toll Plaza (Alligator Alley) 37mi. My most recent visit here was on August 28, 2022. Full Facilities ( includes Handicapped Facilities, Restrooms, Picnic Tables, Drinking Water, Outside Night Lights, and Telephones) 11mi. Until Fall 2023, this is the first rest area in the state as the North Carolina Welcome Center coming in from South Carolina is closed for renovations until then. This is the Cumberland County, NC Rest Area for I-95 Northbound traffic.
